Facilities Custodian

Responsibilities:

  • Clean office areas on a daily / weekly basis as needed
  • Assist with cleaning of manufacturing common and controlled areas as required
  • Mop tiled areas as required
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas as required
  • Dust all furniture and fixtures as required
  • Clean and disinfect all washrooms and fixtures as required
  • Replenish bathroom and kitchen supplies as required
  • Empty all waste baskets and garbage cans every other day or as required
  • Clean glass entry doors areas Bi Monthly or as required
  • Report any maintenance repairs noticed during cleaning activity 
  • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and request when supplies are low

Minimum Educational Requirements for Competency: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education/experience in related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of Building Maintenance Custodian
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Effective verbal, listening, and communication skills

Procurement Supervisor

The Procurement Supervisor will report to the Procurement Manager  and will be responsible for: 

  • Executing and supervising purchases of materials, equipment, supplies and services in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures. Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions, investigates and develops sources of supplies, prepares bid packages, issues bid requests and reviews quotations. This position requires the use of initiative and independent judgment
  • Communicates project scheduling and timelines with contractors and subcontractor’s
  • Examines and analyzes purchase orders executed by buyers for completeness and accuracy of information; identify areas needed for training based on errors found and provide additional training as needed.
  • Identify, select and manage suppliers to procure requisitioned commodities, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality and delivery date and places orders.
  • Ensure procurement files and packages maintain an audit ready status and comply with Government standards.
  • Assist Quality in evaluating and rating suppliers on price, quality and service.
  • Interprets and communicates purchasing procedures to other departments; assists other departments in initiating requisitions.
  • Assist buyers in setting goals and objectives to strengthen their procurement activities.
  • Write and/or revise procedures as required to support procurement activities.
  • Develop improved purchasing methods to effectively and efficiently procure from distributors. 
  • Ensure buyers are resolving purchasing issues in a timely manner as they arise.
  • Manage the evaluation and setting up of Approved Supplier.
  • Other Activities as required by department manager.
  • Organizing and prioritizes workloads for maximum effectiveness and movement with a sense of urgency
  • Conducting and coordinating purchase support activities.

Facilities Technician

  • This position reports directly to the Facility Manager and has the following responsibilities
  • Perform day to day facility repair and maintenance operations at the ADM including but not limited to;
  • Perform minor building repairs to furniture, lighting, doors/ locks, plumbing leaks, water fountains, etc..
  • Assist with escorting onsite contractors entering site to perform re fueling, yard maintenance and other services as required 
  • Perform general maintenance on Gates and cantilevers arms and other exterior facility systems 
  • Provide facilities service support for personnel located in the trailer site as required 
  • Perform maintenance of sink drain acid traps 
  • Assist with general cleaning of the mezzanine floor weekly  
  • Report any maintenance repairs noticed during daily activity 
  • Assist with Facilities repairs as needed according to Help desk system
  • Assist with install of equipment systems as new equipment is installed 
  • Assist with organization of area C shell space and equipment organization / inventory creation
  • Assist with pest management monitoring by checking traps weekly throughout the building 
  • Assist with monthly inventory management of cleaning supplies and equipment  
  • Perform other task assigned on a daily basis by facility manager 
  • Work hours may vary depending on activity plan requirements, general hours will be from 7AM until 4 PM M-F, staff must be available to work nights and or weekends if the activity schedule requires them to do so. 

Minimum Educational Requirements for Competency

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Knowledge of general carpentry, woodworking, painting, drywall and other facility related disciplines 
  • Have general mechanical understanding of grounds maintenance

  • Assist with equipment ordering, installation, qualification and routine maintenance.
  • Draft and review and Production batch records and review executed records.
  • Write raw material specifications, research, source and order material and lab wares. 
  • Draft production reports when necessary.
  • Perform and assist with change-over cleaning in the manufacturing core and other production room.
  • Perform activities to support production campaign such as preparation of tubing assemblies, autoclave, material request and transfer into production room.
  • Adhere to safe working practices.
  • Provide other assistance as needed to the Senior Manufacturing Technicians, Manufacturing Supervisor or Manager.

Minimum Educational Requirements for Competency

  •  Possess a B.S. (Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or equivalent) or A.S diploma and a minimum of two years of manufacturing or lab work experience. Several years of related work experience may substitute.
  • Ability to document work clearly and accurately and be detail oriented.
  • Must have basic computer skills and familiar with Word and Excel.
  • Reading comprehension and legible writing skills.
  • Communication and organization skills in a teamwork environment.
  • Experience working as a team member sharing responsibilities is desired.

Manufacturing Supervisor

  • This position will lead manufacturing teams involved in production related activities in the cGMP Manufacturing Core at the Medical Counter Measures (MCMs) Advanced Development and Manufacturing Facility in Alachua (Florida). 
  • Lead and perform upstream related activities including Cell culture at small and large scale using various cell lines, Cell transfection, Media and buffer preparation, Bioreactor and Fermentor based production. 
  • Lead and perform downstream related activities including Chromatography purification, Centrifugation and Ultracentrifugation, Ultrafiltration/Diafiltration, Viral Clearance.
  • Contribute to process development and process improvement. Evaluate processes for efficiency and facilitate process transfer into the manufacturing core.
  • Plan production activities and allocate manufacturing personnel to production campaigns as appropriate.
  • Determine appropriate procedures necessary for production efficiency, cost saving and manufacturing operators welfare under cGMP conditions.
  • Write and ensure that Standard Operation Procedures are issued in timely manner for production activities. 
  • Write, review and /or approve Change Control, Deviations.
  • Ensure that materials used during manufacturing are properly disinfected and staged into production rooms before the production campaigns.

Cyber-security Engineer

The Security Analyst conducts risk assessments, prepares security reports, verifies use of encryption for data at rest, data in motion; performs compliance and vulnerability analysis; and conducts information technology security research as required. Reports to the IT Director
In this multifaceted role the diverse responsibilities will include:

  • Verifying cybersecurity configuration for compliance
  • Validating proper security procedures by system administrators and others with access to sensitive information

  • Working knowledge of the following regulations, standards, and publications: Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Catalog of Minimum Acceptable Risk Standards for Exchanges (MARS-E), National Institute for Technology Standards Special Publications 800 Series including: 37, 47, 53, 66, et al, Industry best practices related to cybersecurity
  • Working knowledge of security operations, security assessment and testing
  • Recent experience with tools & technologies in data center environments including: Cisco Identify Service Engine (ISE), Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP), Symantec Control Compliance Suite and Data Center Security (CCS / DCS)
  • Working knowledge of cyber monitoring requirements, data center security controls mapping, systems / data integration and reporting frameworks

Sample Control Technician

The Sample Control Technician reports to the Sample Stability Manager and performs sample login and releases samples for testing using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).  The range of work activities include:

  • Logs and tracks all samples submitted to the QC laboratories for internal or external analysis using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Creates and applies labeling to all samples to maintain traceability.
  • Assigns priority level and appropriate testing procedures to samples according to Sample Submission Form, then stores samples appropriately. 
  • Monitors storage chambers temperatures and humidity daily to confirm that the readings are within specified limits.
  • Performs minor sample aliquoting in a safety hood as needed.
  • Cleans and organizes the laboratory daily to promote a clean, safe work environment and smoother flow of daily operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and directed.    

Minimum Educational Requirements for Competency

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate degree or 2 years of laboratory experience a plus
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Familiarity with databases or LIMS a plus

Document Control Associate

The Document Control Associate is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support related to documentation system requirements / maintenance. The position reports to the Documentation & CMC Support Manager and will be responsible for: 

  • Maintaining controlled documentation manuals to assure they are accurate and up-to-date, and available to appropriate personnel 
  • Assisting in archiving activities
  • Assisting with the testing of the eDMS 
  • Using the eDMS software 
  • Assisting employees with document preparation 
  • Responsible for formatting documents
  • Following up with personnel to ensure timely completion of tasks in the eDMS
  • The position requires extensive interaction with employees throughout the organization.

Minimum Educational Requirements for Competency

  • Minimum associates degree required

Warehouse Inventory Technician I


The Warehouse Inventory Technician I will report to the Warehouse Supervisor and will be responsible for performing inventory control activities to include and not be limited to: cycle counting, shipping and receiving of materials, material inspections, material issuance, and loading/unloading of trucks.  The Warehouse Inventory Technician I must comprise a ‘can do’ attitude and be willing to ‘step up’ to challenges, display integrity, communicate issues effectively, and maintain product, process, and material/equipment integrity while sustaining a safe, clean, and efficient work space. Other essential responsibilities and duties include and are not limited to:

  • Perform receipt, inspection, and labeling of incoming materials and equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Packing and shipping of materials/equipment to specified locations in accordance with specified requirements. 
  • Data entry of inventory levels using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Maintain records in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while complying to safety protocols, SOPs, and other applicable process and facility requirements.
  • Operation of warehouse equipment as necessary to complete required day to day operations; e.g. operation of forklifts, stockpicker, drills, hammer, etc.
  • Store materials in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and/or internal specification requirement.
  • Other responsibilities as determined appropriate by warehouse manager and/or company management.

Skills and Abilities

Manufacturing Support Supervisor

The Manufacturing Support Supervisor will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for hands-on manufacturing operations and associated documentation. The Manufacturing Support Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and assisting technicians
  • Preparing documents including standard operating procedures, batch records and progress reports required to support manufacturing operations. 
  • Planning and directing the day to day activities of the technical staff, including verification of completed, signed batch records and reports.
  • Writing reports, providing other assistance as needed to the Operations Manager.
  • Hands-on manufacturing operations such as buffer and media preparation, weigh and dispense, and wash and sterilize components/materials according to established procedures.
  • Set-up, operation and cleaning of manufacturing process equipment and assisting with equipment maintenance and qualification.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of work areas.
  • Reviewing cGMP records and other required documentation.
  • Assisting in other manufacturing areas including cGMP upstream/downstream processing.
  • Interfacing with the technical personnel from other Operations, Analytical and Quality groups to support cGMP manufacturing.
  • Interfacing with Pilot Production personnel in the technology transfer of processes and procedures for cGMP manufacturing.
  • Adhering to safe working practices.

Minimum Educational Requirements for Competency 

  • BA/BS minimum
  • Proven knowledge and track record in cGMP manufacturing operations
  • Proven skills and track record in supervising and managing manufacturing staff
  • Years of experience in cGMP operations in the biologics industry:  >5 years 
  • Proven performance, organization, communication and team building skills

Vector Development Technician I

The Biologics Research and Development Technician I reports to the Vector Development Manager and performs method development, product and process development, scale up processing and purification, performing a range of additional varied work activities including:

  • Tissue culture and maintenance of engineered cell lines
  • Expression and purification of recombinant proteins using a variety of expression systems
  • Performance of in vitro assays and ELISAs
  • General molecular biology tasks including cloning, PCR and Gel electrophoresis
  • Performing analysis of media, culture and products
  • Assist in research, product and process development for both current and new products (including hands-on work)
  • Write R&D protocols and reports in support of R&D product development
  • Perform product testing in support of R&D product development
  • Contribute to validation protocols and reports
  • Assist in training of manufacturing personnel at time of design transfer
  • Maintain R&D inventory supply and ordering
  • Contribute to optimization and improvements of GMP products
  • Write SOPs, work instructions, test methods, material specifications, and other product development documents 
  • Assist in out-of-specification review via CAPA and/or change control forms
  • Teamwork support for Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and other departments as needed 
  • All other tasks as needed or assigned by supervisor

Minimum Educational Requirements for Competency

  • BA or BS degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related field (0-2 years experience), MS a plus.
  • Molecular Biology experience a plus.

Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller and will be responsible for: 

  • Prepare general ledger journal entries by maintaining accounting records and files 
  • Preparing general ledger, reconciliation reports per Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) Document financial transactions
  • Reconciles financial information by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Summarizes financial status through the collection of information; balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and other reports
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls
  • Review customer vouchers and coding for Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) compliance.
  • Prepares vendor disbursements by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
  • Prepare customer vouchers for submission in accordance with FAR
  • Prepares special financial reports to track department and contract related performance
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
  • Assist the Controller in miscellaneous accounting duties
  • Maintain project costs and task codes for proper project coding
  • Maintain electronic timekeeping systems in accordance with FAR
  • Support the Project Management Office with financial information as requested

Minimum Educational Requirements for Competency 

  • B.S. in Accounting/Master’s preferred
  • QuickBooks or similar accounting software (QAD), MS Outlook, Excel, Project, and Word

IT Helpdesk Technician

The IT Helpdesk technician is responsible for responding to and managing tickets in the Helpdesk system.  This position interacts primarily with internal customers and basic customer service skills are required.  Reports to the IT Director
Responsibilities include:

  • Respond to newly opened tickets in a timely manner
  • Keep tickets updated with the latest information
  • Close out tickets with all pertinent information in a timely manner
  • Perform all necessary steps to complete the tickets.  This may include research or purchasing supplies.
  • Generate reports from the helpdesk system for management
  • Manage printers and print management software
  • AD Management
  • Network connectivity troubleshooting
  • Online meeting assistance and troubleshooting
  • Documentation including status updates in ticketing system, SOP’s, polices, and how-to guides
  • Assist administrators / engineers with other projects as needed
  • Assign tickets to level 2 support as required.
  • Other responsibilities as required by management

 

Minimum Educational Requirements for Competency

  • CompTIA or other certifications highly desirable
  • Basic PC troubleshooting skills required
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills

Research and Development Technician


The research and development department at Nanotherapeutics is seeking applicants for an entry level position to assist in technology transfer and process scale up for biopharmaceutical therapeutics and prophylactics at the Alachua, Florida facility. This position will report to the Process Development Engineer.

  • Tissue culture and maintenance of engineered cell lines.
  • Expression and purification of recombinant proteins using a variety of expression systems
  • Write R&D protocols and reports in support of R&D process development.
  • Hands-on lab work such as adherent or suspension cell culture, medium/buffer preparation, and cleaning/decontaminating bioreactors and fermentors.
  • Performance of in vitro assays (e.g. ELISAs).
  • Assist in research, product and process development for both current and new products (including hands-on work).
  • Organize and manage laboratory inventory including procurement of supplies and materials needed for protocol execution. 
  • Operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Write SOPs, work instructions, test methods, material specifications, and other product development documents 
  • Perform routine lab work in a safe and organized manner.
  • Contribute to optimization and improvements of GMP products
  • Execute documents under Good Documentation Practices.
  • Support manufacturing activites in the cGMP cleanroom as necessary for transfer of processes out of the development area.
  • Assist in out-of-specification review via CAPA and/or change control forms
  • All other tasks as needed or assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Education Requirements for Competency

Required:

  • At least 2-year degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field with 2 years experience or 4-year degree in similar field.
  • Ability to work in an organized manner.
  • Ability to clearly and accurately report lab results.

Desired:

  • Understanding and familiarity with bioreactor or fermentor operation. 
  • Experience with recombinant protein.
  • Cell culture, biological assay (ELISA, qPCR, spectrophotometry) experience.
  • Understanding and experience performing calculations (formulation to molar quantity, determining concentration of organisms or protein in samples)
  • Buffer preparation experience.
  • General laboratory experience (pH measurement, measuring weight using a microbalance, pipet and micropipette technique).
  • Experience working with yeast, bacterial, mammalian, and/or insect cell cultures.
