Nanotherapeutics has developed three proprietary drug delivery technologies, NanoDRY, NanoQUAD, and NanoCOAT, which produce valuable product solutions for new and existing compounds. An IND for NanoDOX is expected to be filed in 2007.
Nanotherapeutics has chosen to work initially on building its pipeline with generic compounds that have been poorly adopted due to delivery issues. The Company has three internal drug reformulation projects funded through grant support:
- NanoDOX, a topical doxycycline gel for chronic wounds, has been presented to the FDA in the form of a pre-IND meeting. A 505(b)(2) submission is planned for 4Q07 followed by a Phase 2 dose escalation study starting early next year.
- NanoBUP, a controlled release formulation of buprenorphine to produce a more effective drug for pain management and treatment of opiate addiction.
- NanoGENT, an inhaled formulation of a broad-spectrum antibiotic, gentamicin, to provide early treatment for exposure to biological warfare agents, as well as TB and other respiratory infections.
- A reformulated oral CNS drug under a previous IND and clinical testing.
