NanoDRY®
The NanoDRY® process is a rapid drying technique that produces particles on the nanometer to micrometer scale for efficient and reproducible delivery of large and small molecules. The NanoDRY® process uses a low-shear, low-temperature method of rapidly forming and growing nanoparticles to a desired size and shape in batch sizes from milligrams to hundreds of grams. Using proprietary conditions, the NanoDRY® technique may be used to form microparticles of low molecular-weight compounds, peptides / proteins, and DNA, in combination with several excipients and polymers. This scalable process, compared to milling, spray-drying, and Supercritical Fluid (SCF) techniques, has been shown to improve powder flow, stability, and dissolution / release profiles with close to 100% recovery of active compound. Unlike other approaches, NanoDRY™ is well-suited to form nanoparticles or microparticles of:
- Low molecular-weight compounds
- Water-soluble and water-insoluble drugs
- Drug salts
- Peptides/proteins
- DNA
